HTTP / website monitor

95 Views Last updated: 2026-10-24

The HTTP monitor checks that a URL responds with the expected status, within your timeout and fast enough.

URL

Enter the URL to check. On Free you watch a single URL. Watching multiple URLs in one monitor is a Pro feature (monitor.multi_url).

Interval

Set how often the check runs. A plan floor always applies – paid plans allow faster intervals.

Expected status

Set which HTTP status codes count as OK. You can give a range like 200,299 or a comma list like 200,301,302.

Timeout

How long Ravnsight waits for a response before the check counts as failed. Set between 2 and 60 seconds.

Degraded threshold

The degraded_ms field marks the site as slow/degraded when the response time exceeds this many milliseconds. It is a warning, not an outage.

Expected final URL

If you fill this in, Ravnsight asserts that redirects land on the address you specify.

Content assertions (Pro)

Content assertions (monitor.content_assertions) let you check the page body. The kinds are:

  • contains – the text must appear in the page.
  • not_contains – the text must not appear.
  • regex – a pattern must match.
  • not_regex – a pattern must not match.

No false alarms

A failed check is confirmed from a second location before it alarms.
