Monitors

API / JSON monitor

81 Views Last updated: 2026-10-25

The API monitor makes a call to your endpoint and checks the response – status, response time and content.

Method

Choose the HTTP method: GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE or HEAD.

Expected status

Set which status codes count as OK.

Timeout

How long Ravnsight waits for a response before the check counts as failed.

Degraded threshold

Marks the call as slow/degraded when the response time exceeds the threshold. It is a warning, not an outage.

Headers

Enter one header per line in the format Key: Value, for example Authorization: Bearer ….

Body

If the call needs a request body, enter it here.

Require JSON response

Tick Require JSON response if the response must be valid JSON.

JSON assertions

Check specific values in the response using a JSON path (e.g. data.status), an operator and a value. Operators:

  • exists / not_exists – the path is present or absent.
  • equals / not_equals – the value is equal / not equal.
  • contains – the value contains the text.
  • gt / lt – greater than / less than.

No false alarms

A failed check is confirmed from a second location before it alarms.
