Ravnsight never claims more than the evidence allows. When Detective proposes a likely cause it tells you exactly how sure it is – and how to make it surer.
Correlation, stated honestly
When errors and changes line up, Detective proposes a likely cause – “the error first appeared just after plugin X updated” – and always shows contradicting evidence alongside the supporting evidence. Confidence is ordinal: LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH or CONFIRMED. It is never a percentage, and Detective never says “caused” until a reproducible isolation test has actually reproduced the result.
What the levels mean
- LOW / MEDIUM: there is a timing link, but something else could explain it.
- HIGH: a strong timing link and few plausible alternatives.
- CONFIRMED: an isolation test reproduced the error – it is no longer a guess.
From guess to proof
A HIGH-confidence suspect can be turned into a CONFIRMED one with a one-click isolation test. That is the difference between “probably plugin X” and “the error does not occur when plugin X is disabled”. The test runs in isolation so your ordinary visitors are never affected.
